Seasonal Affective Disorder Treatment

Up to 200,000 British Columbians experience “winter blues” or Seasonal Affective Disorder. These people are particularly sensitive to the shorter day-light hours of autumn and winter. A majority of these people respond to light therapy, but, as with any kind of therapy, some do not.

Symptoms include: low energy levels, moodiness, social withdrawal, generally feeling “down,” diffculty falling asleep and waking up at desired times, tiredness during the day, decreased alertness and performance, possible craving for carbohydrates associated with weight gain, trouble adjusting to an irregular work/travel schedule.

Our knowledgeable staff will be pleased to answer your questions about SAD lights, and we have several brochures available with information about light therapy treatment options.
